Celebrity First Dates Hotel guest gives TOWIE's Pete Wicks some unexpected love advice

We're discussing dating in the canteen. Eve, our luscious receptionist, reckons we should all get down to Tesco one Friday after work. Apparently it's singles' night. Unofficially, like. People are dismissive - no one's heard of it. I keep schtum.

By Imogen Blake For Mailonline. Shoppers were left baffled after finding rows of empty shelves at their local supermarkets with hardly any food in stock. Retail experts told FEMAIL that the most likely reason for the lack of stock is due to stores switching from party food to healthy items following the festive season, the lack of staff over the holiday period, and because supermarkets usually receive deliveries late at night. Sainsbury's and Asda have insisted that the problem was limited to just a handful of stores, with one spokesman blaming the 'busy' holiday period for the issues. Lidl meanwhile said that the seasonal switchover and busy Christmas period was to blame for product shortages.

BOSSES at Asda are planning on helping shoppers find love - by launching 'love match trolleys' which show whether you are single or not. The scheme is currently being trialled ahead of the roll-out at the store on February 14, when singles will be able to choose their trollies and go looking for love among the aisles. The trolleys each have a large red dot on them - green for 'single and keen', amber for 'open to be approached' and red for 'no go'.

Best places to meet women

But after chatting to one guest by the First Dates pool, it looks like Pete doesn't actually need to jet off to Italy to find romance because it's all happening a little bit closer to home. While talking to a guest named Amanda poolside, she questioned him on what he's doing at the Hotel. On live TV!
